HAROLD R. WING OF WING ENTERPRISES NAMED WINNER OF ERNST & YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR (R) 2005 AWARD
SPRINGVILLE, UTAH – July 1, 2005. Harold R. Wing, CEO, President and Founder, of Wing Enterprises was named a winner by professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2005 Awards in Salt Lake City in the consumer products category. Mr. Wing was selected from 23 finalists in Utah by an independent panel of judges comprised of local business, academic and community leaders and announced at an awards banquet on June 30th at the Salt Palace Convention Center. From its modest beginning in the Wing family carport, Mr. Wing has stimulated and directed the growth of Wing Enterprises, Inc. into an international, multi-million dollar manufacturing and marketing corporation. Back in the 1970’s, he immediately recognized the potential of a German painter’s ladder prototype and brought it to the United Stateswhere he single-handedly sold over a half-million dollars of product the first year. Since that time, Mr. Wing, working with his sons Art and Doug, has patented seven improvements on Little Giant Ladder Systems and successfully marketed three special-purpose ladders, a scaffold system and introduced a number of profitable ladder accessories. Mr. Wing will be eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & amp; Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif. on November 19, 2005.
